This letter has been written by Edmund Phelps (Prize Nobel winner), Research fellow at OFCE and director of the Center on Capitalism and Society - Columbia University-, of which Jean-Paul Fitoussi is a member, following the 6th Annual Conference of the Center on "Emerging from the Financial Crisis".

The agenda of the London G-20 summit on 2 April 2009 is extremely heavy. The US and the IMF wish the meeting to focus on how to revive world economic growth, while the Europeans consider that improving financial markets regulation should be addressed first. Both issues need to be tackled…
